Miatas at Laguna Seca is a celebration of our favorite sports car. It combines hard-core track time with more laid back, friendly gatherings. You can check out a living car show of every kind of Miata imaginable or strap yourself into a modified beast with an experienced driver. You can take your first high-speed laps around a track with an instructor or you can chase national champions in the fastest race Miatas around. Vendors and Miata experts are there to answer questions and show off their latest products. There's a free BBQ, car show, parade laps...it's a very full weekend.
The first Miatas at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca - called "Miatas at MRLS" - was a two-day event that ran on March 21-22nd, 2009 as a 20th birthday party for the Miata. It spawned followup events in 2010, 2012 and 2013, pulling Miatas from all over North America and beyond.
In 2014, we celebrated 25 years of the Miata with a massive world record gathering of nearly 2,000 Miatas that included the first public showing of the 4th generation car. 2015-2018 saw the weekend grow even bigger, with over 800 people attending.
This year is the 30th anniversary event of the Miata, so it's going to be another big one. We're continuing the track time that forms the core of the event, of course, but will be offering a bunch of parties and celebrations. There will also be parade laps on both days for all registered Miatas.
