Miatas at Mazda Raceway

About the Event

The first Miatas at Mazda Raceway - called "Miatas at MRLS" - was a two-day event that ran on March 21-22nd, 2009 as a 20th birthday party for the Miata. It was such a huge success that we immediately started planning for the 2010 version, and this year is going to be bigger and better.

Our goal is to have a fun, safe, exciting weekend with something for everyone. The event is restricted to Miatas only. Two full days of track time with nothing but Miatas in sight.

On track, we have run groups to suit every level of driver, from rank novice to professional. If you'd like an instructor to ride with you, we'll happily provide you with one. If you want to go for a ride, you're welcome to do so. We'll also have parade laps for participants so anyone can see the track from the driver's seat.

Off track, there's a car show in the paddock with a range of Miatas from pristine time capsules to the latest modified rides. A vendor alley will give you the chance to meet some of your favorite Miata professionals and possibly take a ride in one of their cars. There will also be three chances to take a run through some of the local-only roads in the area, hosted by the Bay Area Miata Association (BAMA).

In the evenings, we have an informal BBQ put on by BAMA and event sponsors P R Motorsports in the parking lot of the hotel from 6pm to 9pm on Friday -- with early event check-in and a Pin Swap going on at the same time in the hotel lobby area. The BBQ is free for all registered drivers and participants. Please leave your alcohol at home or in the hotel for this one.

Saturday is a banquet at the hotel with Derek Jenkins, head of design for Mazda North America as our guest speaker. Want to grill someone about the ND Miata? Here's your chance.

We'll have a number of guests that you'll want to meet as well. People who were there when the Miata was born, people who have helped make it what it is today and people who will be shaping the Miata in the future.
